Independence for older people

As posted in the Information & Development Agency’s news bulletin: ‘Telecare’ an electronic device that monitors household behaviour, could be the key to enabling elderly people to keep living in their own homes. By 2050 at least 30 per cent of the European population will be over 80, putting huge pressure on the younger generation. New technology will hopefully allow people not only to remain independent longer but also increase their ability to communicate with friends and family.
