The Broadband Media Exchange is a Bristol based, not-for-profit company dedicated to providing innovative network-based services to organisations involved with digital media in the South West of England.

Originating as the Bristol Creative Technology Network, a Bristol University Computer Science led R&D project which ran for three years from 1999, BMEX members include Bristol University, Watershed Media Centre, Hewlett-Packard Labs, Films at 59 Ltd, Granada, Netsight Internet Solutions and NESTA FutureLab.

BMEX is a metropolitan area network utilising Ethernet fibre-optic LAN Extension services to connect media businesses within the Bristol area. Servicing one of the most significant media industries outside London, BMEX offers a tool for effective collaboration, offering producers, service providers and others a simple, fast, reliable and cost effective way to share data.
