Capturing the Journey with the BBC

by David on October 4, 2006 · Comments

As part of the BBC’s commitment to help capture the journey of Bristol’s Digital Challenge Bid, via online, radio and tv, we’ve already seen several features aired on BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Points West. The highlights of which are NOW available via a podcast broadcast on this site.

In the very near future I’ll be adding even more fascinating stories to the audio and visual archive and getting right across the city meeting up with even more groups and individuals who have interesting and exciting digital stories to tell.

Although I’m only one pair of hands, the much wider BBC is a vast and varied organisation which is always on the look out for interesting people with interesting stories to tell. If your group, department, company or organisation is working on an exciting digital project in the Bristol area, and you’d really like other people to know about it, then please make sure you let me ( or the other bid team members ) know.

Get in touch with me via this blog or email me via david.aston@bbc.co.uk.

Already there are initial plans to go and see what the new Bristol City Learning Centres are attempting to do to help transform the social, educational and economic welfare of scores of both young and older Bristolians. Similary the library service has been in touch to suggest we perhaps showcase their attempt to transform the way we use the service in the future. And we’ll be covering the exciting plans by ICT for Bristol Schools to give students PDAs through which to fundamentally change the way
the way they live and learn.

You can expect audio and film on these and many other stories to be showcased over the coming few months.

But please keep me in touch.
