Exciting Times for Storytelling in Henbury

by David on November 3, 2006 · View Comments

Plans are underway for an exciting storytelling workshop in Henbury, early next month. It’s hoped the workshop will take place at the Brentry Lodge Youth Centre, Machin Road, Henbury Bristol BS10 7HQ. Actual dates still to be confirmed.
As the BBC’s main representaive on the Connecting Bristol Bid it was always my hope to see best practice in how to use digital storytelling, extended right across the city. With workshops in the north of the city soon to come on stream, this objective has moved one step closer to being realised.

By involving the likes of Asma Ahmad, from the Extended Schools Partnership,
Jane Sallis, who works with Artist First, an art group for adults with learning difficulties, in Henbury
Lisa Rake, Project Co-ordinator of the Henbury Youth Inclusion Project, Liz Clarke, Neighbourhood Arts Officer and Heather Barham, from the Regeneration Development Office for Henbury, it’s hoped it’ll encourage even more Bristolians to begin to tell their story.

And of course the BBC will be there to record their journey via sound and vision podcasting here on the Connecitng Bristol website.

Continue to keep me posted of anything you think I might be interested in covering. It’s great to hear of so much going on!
