According to the Bristol Science City press release it is Bristol itself - they were all invented here. And the city’s spirit of scientific discovery is still very much alive today.
“The Bristol city region was awarded ’science city’ status in recognition of its strengths and achievements in world class scientific research, innovation and development of our academic and industrial sectors. Science City Bristol will focus on maximising investment in key areas of science and technology and improving knowledge transfer between academia and business. It will also develop a programme to encourage people to get involved with science and raise the aspirations of young people. One key focus is the development of SPark, the Bristol and Bath Science Park, that will help in the drive to attract technology businesses into the region.
