Congratulations to Knowle West Media Centre, their new building has won Knowle West the title of ‘Most Enterprising Place in South West England.’
The Archimedia Project based at Knowle West Media Centre is the regional winner of the DTI’s ‘Enterprising Britain 2007 competition - an annual national contest to reward towns, cities or areas of any size across the country that have created jobs, brought communities together, and made a real difference to local businesses and local people.

The project is being run by Knowle West Media Centre to design and build a new media centre on the current site in Knowle West, Bristol. It will provide innovation and enterprise space to the creative industries, including training rooms; meeting rooms; production suites; sound studios; exhibition space; incubation and managed workspace.

Key to the project is putting young people at the heart of decision making, giving them an opportunity to develop business skills. They form part of the design team and have helped recruit leading architects White Design and artist Simon Poulter. Over 40 young people have been involved over the past four years. Many have been encouraged to go on to higher education and consider routes not normally open to them.
