Greenpeace Rank Green Electronics Companies

by Kevin on November 30, 2007 · View Comments

The Greenpeace ‘Guide to Greener Electronics’ aims to clean up the electronics sector and get manufacturers to take responsibility for the full life cycle of their products, including the electronic waste that their products generate.

The guide ranks the 18 top manufacturers of personal computers, mobile phones, TV’s and games consoles according to their policies on toxic chemicals and recycling. Greenpeace are aiming to encourage companies to clean up their products by eliminating hazardous substances, and to take back and recycle their products responsibly once they become obsolete.

An overview of the results can be found on the Greenpeace website.

  • Kudos to Connecting Bristol for highlighting such a good resource.
The Greenpeace site might not be perfect but it's a major move in pushing some of the less forward-thinking manufacturing companies into cleaning up there act.
