Seeing your Carbon Footprint

Have you ever wonder what your carbon footprint actually looks like? Measuring green house gas emissions gives an accurate, but abstract, calculation of the quantity of CO2 released into the atmosphere but it can be difficult to visualise precisely what this means.

The Carbon Quilt is an online application that translates these calculations into a visual representation of the volume of carbon generated. The tool makes it easy to make very quick visual comparisons of emissions generated for the same journey across different forms of transport, or to see the total annual emissions for several major UK Cities. Bristol’s daily carbon dioxide emissions are shown below represented to scale with the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
