Bristol City Council is seeking to set up a new contract to commission qualified and experienced energy consultants to support the delivery of its portfolio of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at a citywide scale. The investment programme consists of a wide range of measures including district energy/biomass, Green Deal/energy efficiency, Solar PV and thermal, solid wall insulation/retrofitting and wind energy. The initial total value of the investment programme has been estimated to be approx. £140m.

The 3 year contract will cover a wide range of energy consulting services ranging from business planning, finance and accountancy through to project management, technical analysis, market analysis and procurement.

A Suppliers Open Day will be held on Monday, the 3rd of September, at The City & Port Of Bristol Social & Sports Club, Nibley Road, Bristol, BS11 9XW from 9:00 – 12:00.

I don't know about the develop and implement the Council’s energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, can you explain me little bit more about that.

I think that the best place to get clarification on precisely what is involved will be at the suppliers day on 3rd Sept. Drop john.thompson@bristol.gov.uk an email to reserve your place.

Although we will not be applying – we wish you luck . I would note that “qualified and experienced”  is extremely vague. I would be in favour (where public monies are concerned) in dividing the pot more precisely and setting very measurable goals that will be published and monitored). When advisers can be held to account publicly – they will start to perform better. And the next council will benefit.
