Bristol City Council is radically changing the way it procures its ICT requirements. This will give greater opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to be involved in BCC ICT procurement activities.

We envisage potential opportunities in the areas of:

  • telecoms
  • infrastructure and network*
  • server support
  • web support

*NB: Connecting Bristol will be organising a seperate market engagement day to set out the procurement opportunities arising from our Superconnected Cities work. If you are specifically interested in this then register your contact details and we will send you details of the event when they are firmed up.

In order to find out more about the new BCC Sourcing Strategy and potential opportunities, you are invited to a market engagement session:

When: Tuesday 4 September 2012

Time: 9.30am to 3.30pm

Where: Hall 2, Colston Hall, Colston Street, Bristol

In addition to the BCC new sourcing strategy, there will be an opportunity to hear from the Cabinet Office about the Government’s G-Cloud sourcing arrangements and understand how to get involved.

Natural England’s procurement manager will also outline how SMEs can get involved in the ICT sourcing for Natural England.

Finally, there will be an overview of Bristol City Council’s recently announced decision on rationalising its central buildings so far as it relates to ICT requirements.

Both the Government and their agencies (such as Natural England) are committed to using SMEs for at least 25% of their procurement requirements, and Bristol are aiming to use far in excess of this target.

Please note that only two attendees from each organisation is permitted.

THE EVENT IS STRICTLY PRE-BOOK VIA http://bristolictsourcing.eventbrite.co.uk/

If you know of any other organisations based in the West of England areas (Bristol, Bath &North East Somerset, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire) who are SMEs and are involved in the fields of telecoms, infrastructure and network, server support, and web support, please contact procurement.support@bristol.gov.uk with their details and they will forward an invitation on to them.
