Message from Paul Arrigoni, Service Director, Business Change and ICT.

“Thank you to all that attended our ICT Business Awareness day on the 4th of September. As promised we have started our online community. Having listened to comments on the day, there were a number of suggestions made on using Linkedin Groups, so that’s what we have done.

The Group can be found on Linkedin under ICT_Bristol_Supply (same as our Twitter hash tag).

For those email addresses we received we will be sending out automated invites to join the group, but all SMEs who provide services into the ICT market place are welcome to join. This is intended to be an inclusive group!

As we explained on the day, this is an exciting opportunity to work with SMEs to help us work towards Bristol City Council’s vision of enabling a multi vendor environment and implement our ICT Sourcing Strategy, aimed at ensuring that within the next three years at least 25% of the Council’s technology budget will be spent with SMEs.

We will soon be announcing some further events including “focus groups” where we aim to target particular service types to suppliers to really start to get into the details.

Also, as discussed on the day, this is a three year journey and whilst we are working at providing “in flight” opportunities we also have to put together the structure and the governance that underpins a successful programme. So please work with us.”

As agreed on Tuesday the 4th of September. The first cut of “Potential Opportunities” is now available, please read the “Opportunities 07-09-2012″ Post on Linkedin Group ICT_Bristol_Supply.
