European Transport Innovation Challenge 2017

25 Apr, 17 by Matthew Cockburn

On 29 March, the European Commission DG Mobility and Transport launched the European Transport Innovation Challenge 2017 for young transport innovators. They are invited to come forward with creative ideas to improve transport or mobility. The key themes of the challenge are innovation and inspirational thinking.  At this stage, projects do not have to be fully researched.

Up to 12 young innovators aged 18-35 will be rewarded with an invitation to Strasbourg to attend the ITS Congress and Exhibition in June. In addition to free travel and accommodation, and meeting leaders in the world of intelligent transport in Europe, the winners will receive personalised coaching on how to further develop their projects at a dedicated mentoring workshop. The competition is open to both individuals (including those working for public and transport organisations) and groups or SMEs.

The deadline for the 1,500 word submission of ideas is 7 May.
