As part of STEEP’s innovative ‘systems modelling’ approach to energy master-planning , partners in Bristol recently hosted a two-day training workshop as an introduction to ‘systems thinking’. The training was a great success, with partners from Florence and San Sebastian participating in an introductory session to ‘systems thinking’ theory.
Project partners met with Mayor George Ferguson, visited city hall and were taken on a tour of Bristol’s ‘Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone’ , (the district that has been identified as a test area for development of an energy master plan using a systems thinking approach).
Training took place at ‘The Engine Shed’, a collaboration between Bristol City Council, the University of Bristol and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership at the heart of Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone
This knowledge and understanding will now be taken back to the respective cities and used to train other key stakeholders to the systems modelling process.
