Venturer will:
- Develop the sensing and decision-making technology required to allow highly autonomous vehicles to understand real world scenarios
- Create a virtual Bristol in a simulator so that the decision making software can be tested thoroughly in a wide range of scenarios
- Run a trial of a driverless pod in low speed campus type environments
- Gain understanding of the legal and insurance implications of this type of technology
- Manage a series of very careful trials of the technology in environments that match the maturity of the technology
- Carry out wide ranging academic research into the public perceptions of driverless vehicles
